Are you an experienced Product Specialist with working knowledge of solar (or a related field)? Are you looking for an exciting role where you will be responsible for deciding which new products to buy, who from and what will best suit your customers needs? If so, then this could be the role for you!

What’s the role?

This is a senior role for a Product Specialist within an emerging team, focus on international markets. The role is UK based and Travel isn't necessary with this role although the occasional trip to suppliers could prove beneficial now and again (Germany / China).

Who’s the right candidate for this?

We’re looking for a deeply technical and experienced Product Specialist to join this highly successful team bringing new technologies and manufacturers to market. Your time will be spent researching and understanding market requirements for future products, liaising with suppliers and linking products to create a seamless solution for customers. You'll therefore need to show a track record for identification, conception, set up and launch of new products.

  • The role is office based (Aldershot, Hampshire) for at least the first 3 months, with the potential to work from home some of the week following successful completion of probation period
  • Working hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm

  • Identifying market requirements for future products by conducting market research and gaining constant feedback from internal and external sources
  • Manage all products from conception, through change to end of line
  • Selection of the right product, at the right price, at target margin, on the right terms ensuring competitive advantage
  • Technical and desktop evaluations of product performance and description
  • Identify product dependencies, compatibilities and add on products for total solutions offering
  • Build good relationships and maintain regular communication with suppliers
  • Communicate introduction of new products, their applications and benefits to the local sales teams
  • Website management; keeping live products relevant and up to date
  • Write and deliver new product launch plans
  • Liaise with marketing to market new and existing products
  • Contribute towards sales and marketing write ups
